Innoponics is located in Concord, California and specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of hydroponic, aquaponic, horticultural and gardening supplies. Our parent company has been an OEM hydroponic manufacturer since the 1970s and now directly sells products online and at our retail location in Concord. We also offer wholesale products to other retail stores throughout the country.
Since 1971, we have maintained a tradition of excellence. Our products are brought to market via three strategies: 1) we design and produce products ourselves, 2) we design and have products manufactured for us, and 3) we carefully specify and select products sold by quality suppliers.
What is Hydroponics? (as defined by Wikipedia)
Hydroponics (From the Greek words hydro, water and ponos, labor) is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. Terrestrial plants may be grown with their roots in the mineral nutrient solution only or in an inert medium, such as air, perlite, gravel, mineral wool, or coconut husk.
Researchers discovered that plants absorb essential fat nutrients as organic ions in water. In natural conditions, soil acts as a solid nutrient reservoir but the soil itself is not essential to plant growth. When the mineral nutrients in the soil dissolve in water, plant roots are able to absorb them. When the required mineral nutrients are introduced into a plant's root supply artificially, soil is no longer required for the plant to thrive. Almost any terrestrial plant will grow with hydroponics.
